Identification of 26 people killed in floods and landslides in Panchthar

The District Police Office, Panchthar, has so far confirmed the deaths of 26 people. Although the death toll is slightly higher, police have not confirmed the number. Six people have missing and eight others have  injured in a landslide in Panchthar district. Two health workers from Ilam are also missing after a landslide in Panchthar.

The deceased have  identified as Mamata Limbu, 22, of Lungrupa, Fidim Municipality-13, Roman Magar, 4, of the same place, Yugesh Tamang, 10, of Falgunanda Village Municipality-3, Malinge and Phurba Tamang, 28, of the same place, Pyarimaya Tumbapo Chemjong, 35, of Chaplung Dambar Kumari Sherma, 40, of Gaonpalika-2 Loktapaki.

Similarly, Dhan Bahadur Lawati, 75, of Karbari in Miklajung Gaonpalika-5, Chandrakala Rai, 36, of Hulak in the same ward, Santosh Nepali, 35, of Athabhaiya in Miklajung Gaonpalika-1, Man Bahadur Rai, 47, of Siktemba in Miklajung Ward No. 5 and Bimala Shrestha Rai, 46, of the same place. The deceased have been identified as Bishnu Bahadur Lawati, 31, Sandeep Lawati, 31, Anil Rai, 17, Aniya Chongbang, 17, Pratap Chongbang, 28, Padam Singh Chongbang, 65, Suraj Chongbang, 31, and Bhadramaya Lawati, 55.

Similarly, Babin Rai, 25, and Anil Rai, 27, of Panchami, Miklajung Gaonpalika-4, Magar Sayla, 60, of Dhankuta, Manmati Sherma, 51, of Nakedim, Miklajung-2, Nisha Sherma, 21, of the same place and Manmaya Rai and Birman of Miklajung-7 According to the District Police Office, Panchthar, Rai died due to floods and landslides.
