Due to incessant rains, agricultural crops in Lumbini province have been severely damaged. The rains have damaged thousands of hectares of paddy fields. According to the Lumbini State Agriculture Development Directorate, 36,480 hectares of paddy has been destroyed in 12 districts of the state.
Similarly, the remaining 93,576 hectares of paddy has fallen. The central farmers have imported paddy of 55,054 hectares of the total cultivated area of 317,414 hectares in the state. According to the details collected by the provincial directorate, 3,400 hectares of paddy land in Dang has been damaged. Similarly, the remaining 4,300 hectares of paddy land has been washed away by the rains. Paddy of 10,000 hectares of land has been imported in Dang before the rains.
Similarly, 10,000 hectares of paddy land in Bardiya has been cleared. Similarly, the remaining paddy of 25,200 hectares of land has been destroyed by landslides. Paddy of 15,020 hectares of land has been imported in Bardiya. Similarly, banana crop in Bardiya has also been affected by rains. According to the directorate, banana plants planted on 73 hectares of land have been washed away by the rains.
Similarly, 7,500 hectares of paddy land in Banke has been irrigated. Similarly, the remaining 10,000 hectares of paddy land has been washed away by the rains. Only paddy of 1,100 hectares of land has been imported in Banke.
Similarly, 8,008 hectares of paddy has been destroyed in Kapilvastu. Similarly, the remaining 27,455 hectares of land has been cleared for paddy. Likewise, the area under paddy in Rupandehi has reached 3,468 hectares while the remaining paddy in 20,793 hectares has been affected by rains. Similarly, paddy has been harvested in 3,007 hectares of land in Pyuthan and the remaining 788 hectares of paddy has been washed away by rain and wind.
